Opal Kestrel — coming next

Opal Kestrel is everything still to come, after Tidal Harbor is live and stable.

  • A formal dispute process when both sides cannot agree
  • Membership tiers with lower platform fees
  • Selling several bookings of the same service in one go
  • Required ID checks for in-person work
  • Co-branded pages for charity and organisation partners
  • Community activity feeding into your Ally score

Nothing here is locked yet — replies that change my mind are explicitly invited.

Added 2026-05-07: Sign in with Google or Microsoft (federated IdP sources connected to Authentik) — moved into the next-sprint backlog.

Update — 2026-05-14: Opal Kestrel scope refresh.

A couple of items moved off this list because they’re already live:

  • A formal dispute process when both sides can’t agreeshipped, see Velvet Marmot.

What we’re proposing for the next major phase, in rough priority order:

  • Sign in with Google or Microsoft — alongside the existing Tessolari account, so people can use whichever identity they want.
  • Membership tiers with lower platform fees for regular contributors and providers.
  • Multi-booking flow — selling several sessions of the same service in one go, instead of one-by-one.
  • Co-branded pages for charity and organisation partners — their members enter the platform via a partner-skinned page.
  • Community activity feeding into your Ally score — helpful forum activity bumps your reliability signal.
  • In-app notifications alongside email, with per-event preferences so you can mute the noisy ones.

What’s missing? What’s a higher priority? Reply below — this is the thread where we shape what ships next.
